Washable Wool Collection Sport

Swans Island's Washable Wool Collection uses an Ecowash® process, new to the United States, that involves leaving the scales on the fiber and gently coating the fiber with an organic compound. Almost magically, this leaves the yarn less "stripped" and gives it a softer hand than many Superwash products.

This GOTS certified organic wool is spun at a historic Maine mill, then skein dyed with low impact dyes in Maine, maintaining the variegated tonalities familiar to Swans Island yarns. The resulting yarns are great to handle, soft to wear and machine-washable.
