A dropped stitch or misplaced count in a delicate lace pattern is often a cause for woe; it can be so tricky to see what has gone wrong, and how to fix it. This intensive class will teach you how to recognize and fix mistakes not only in plain knitting, but in your lace work. You’ll learn how to read your knitting, unknit stitch by stitch (tink), add or remove an increase, tear out rows at a time (frog), and deal with other common lace mistakes.
Pre-Class Homework. Three swatches; instructions will be provided. If you don’t have 3 sets of the same size needle, you can put your swatches on a stitch holder. Come with swatch #1 on the needles, ready to work.
Supplies you’ll need. 150 yards (100 grams) worsted weight yarn(preferably wool, and light-colored to make it easier to see your stitches), one 24” circular needle or set of straight needles in size appropriate for yarn (recommend US 7-8), US G, H, or I crochet hook, tapestry needle, locking stitch marker, stitch holder, thin contrasting yarn for lifeline, blocking mat to pin into, T-pins.
Once registered, you’ll receive an email with a class handout, and Zoom information. Class size is limited to 12, unless otherwise stated.
A full refund will be given when cancelled at least 7 days prior to the scheduled class. Because class size is limited and instructor fees are committed in advance based on enrollment, refunds will not be issued for cancellations within one week of the scheduled class.
